5 Ethical Summer Dresses Perfect For the Lazy Girl

I love summer style because it’s so easy. All I have to do is throw on a dress, tie on some espadrilles, and I’m out the door. Here are 5 colourful, comfortable, and classy dresses I think would also transition well on summer nights with some heels. You don’t even need your own belt with these. As always, they’re all from ethical/sustainable brands.

1. Reformation’s Capoli Dress

Gingham is always a good idea in the summer, even when friends make fun of you for looking like a picnic blanket. This yellow number is made from lightweight linen.

2. Christy Dawn’s Katie Dress

Why oh why is this style is always sold out in my size whenever they stock it? Give me a break, Christy Dawn!

They use surplus fabric, so their runs of dresses are limited. While the same style of dresses do return, the fabric is usually different. I love the button detailing on this one.

3. Doen’s Ash Wrap Dress

This is such a cool dress—the square neckline, the structured short sleeves, the wrap, the high slits. The only thing preventing it from being a perfect summer dress is that it’s silk and you need to dry clean it.

4. Reformation’s Safari Dress

Most of The Reformation’s dresses are not bra friendly, but this one is. I bought the green one, and the sleeves are adorable. The linen is slightly sheer so dark lingerie will show through. If you haven’t noticed by now, I like dresses with long skirts and high slits. I’m subtly sexy like that.

5. Amour Vert’s Varden Dress

I’m into wrap dresses, but I don’t come across a lot I like with spaghetti straps. The colour and print on this one is so fun.

My summer dresses have to at least reach the knees. I can’t wear short stuff anymore because I don’t like my ass hanging out whenever I bend over. Most of the summer dresses I see at the mall are very short. Women are really thirsty for summer dresses with longer skirts but they don’t know where to get them. I know this because friends and strangers flip out and grill me whenever I wear cute but modest dresses. Hope this post has helped!
