Fall Fashion 2019 Mood Board

I thought it would be fun to make a mood board for fall instead of an ethical wish list. I’m using this mood board as inspiration instead of buying the exact pieces pictured since I buy most of my clothes second hand anyway, whether that’s at my local vintage shop or online at The Realreal, Ebay, Depop, Poshmark, etc.

Shopbop: This Zimmerman boiler suit is not something I’d purchase because it’s leather (impractical) and $2.6k (hmm), but I can find a similar tan boiler suit in cotton for this look. I already have a white turtleneck and brown fanny pack.

Mejuri: Organic Pearl Hoops. I’m all over pearls this season for some reason. Maybe it’s because they’re elegant and easy to dress up your look going into the holiday season.

Dôen: Peninsula dress. This pinafore is the dress I didn’t know I needed this season. Dôen pieces never go out of style, which is why it’s one of my favourite brands.

Nanushka: Menswear. Nanushka is coming out with a new men’s line and I’m already jealous of the cool suits. A brown houndstooth suit and a camel coat is a classic fall combo that I need in my life.

Pinterest: Brown plaid blazer. If I can’t find a matching suit, a brown plaid blazer over caramel dress pants is just as good.

Nanushka: pink sweater. I always get a lot of inspiration from Nanushka’s collections.  Tucking a loose cable-knit sweater into a leather (or in Nanushka’s case, pleather) skirt is easy enough, and the outfit looks warm and comfortable looking too. The sweater has a little pearl at the zipper, coincidentally tying it into the other pearl items on this mood board.

Barbour x ALEXACHUNG: Cotton Jacket. Are you into the whole English countryside look? You know, that Queen Elizabeth II vibe? If so, Alexa Chung just did a collaboration with British heritage label Barbour, adding a cool-girl edge to their classic jackets.

Anastasia Vitkina: Pearl Clutch. Is this not the cutest clutch? It would work with any colour outfit really.

Net-a-Porter/Acne Studios: Cropped Suede Jacket. I’ve been looking for a cropped suede jacket for years. This Acne one is from last season and sold out. I’m looking for something similar at a thrift store, or maybe a secondhand one will turn up. It would look great with a black or white turtleneck.

ByFar: Croc Effect Boots. I chose these square-toed boots because the material is interesting and heels are low enough that I can walk around in them for hours. I’ll have to try these on in person.

Angela Roi: Eloise Satchel. I don’t have a bordeaux-coloured bag, so it’s something I’m looking for. This Angela Roi one is nice but too small for me. I usually like purses that are big enough to fit a paperback and a reusable coffee cup.
